*The North and West Wall had Collapsed
A recommendation for Great Lakes Barn Preservation Summer 2003
Not only did Great Lakes Barn Preservation do a great job on our barn, they helped us restore our faith in contractors in general.
They gave us a fair price.
They arrived a month early.
They got the job done sooner then they thought.
They were patient with our requests and continuous questions.
They came up with a lot of great ideas.
They worked hard all day and did an excellent job, and provided a refreshing and memorable experience that we’ll never forget.
We were sorry to see them leave, and missed them after they were gone. We missed the conversations. We missed the stories around the campfire. We felt like we’d made good friends.
Watching them work, reminded us the importance of hard work, sweat and the gratification of a job well done. Something that many of us trapped in an office space miss in our jobs.
The barn is now a fixture of our life. And a welcome retreat from the cold world of deadlines, stress and uncertainty.
The barn meant a lot to us before, but now it means so much more. Thanks to Great Lakes Barn Preservation.
The value of restoring a barn is immeasurable.
Fixing up the barn provides utility.
A place to keep animals if we decide to do so in the future.
A place to keep tools, lumber, equipment cars. Etc.
A place to work.
A place to play.
And a place to just sit and think amidst the earthy fragrance of aged wood and straw.
Good thoughts come when you’re in the barn.
Clear thoughts.
Happy thoughts.
And it makes you feel good knowing that you’re preserving the hard work of the farmer who originally built it. I like to think that if were here, he’d be happy to see it looking good and standing straight. (I know the ghost of the dog that lives in the barn is pleased.)
Great Lakes Barn Preservation’s standards of work and professional are without question. We knew that the minute we met Sam and his wife Peggy. Experience really counts. Not just his. Ours too. We’ll never forget the experience we had with Great Lakes Barn Preservation…
